Purpose

Zamora Fire Protection District (the District) shall maintain reserve funds. This policy establishes the level of reserves necessary for adequately providing:

• Future Equipment
• Equipment Maintenance
• Building Maintenance / Improvements
• Unforeseen Emergency Expenses
• Economic uncertainties

Procedure for Using Reserve Funds

The Board of Commissioners will authorize use of Reserves during the budget process. Reserves are also available for unplanned (unbudgeted) expenses. Use of reserves for unplanned expenses require authorization / Board Approval. 

The key objective for accumulating reserves is to minimize external borrowing.
